About the App and its Utility and Relevance

The Media Ki Baat DigiMedia App is a quick and easy way to study important topics in Digital Media. Though it is primarily meant for students of third year BMM program of the University of Mumbai, the utility of the app is universal. It provides brief but comprehensive notes in a manner that helps you prepare for an exam or for a job interview.
This version of the app contains the following topics of Digital Media subject of the BMM curriculum:

  2. Internet Key Terms
  3. Evolution of the Internet
  4. Search Engine Optimization
  5. Why Google penalizes websites?
  6. Tools and Trends
  7. Features of Website
  8. Content Writing

How to use this App:

If you are a first time user, when you open this app, you can first sign up to this app by entering your credentials like full name, qualification, phone number, email address and then enter a password.

After entering these details, press “Sign Up” and then verify your email address by going to your email account and clicking the link in the verification email. Please provide your valid email ID to be able to verify.



  • If you are a returning user, you can sign in to the app by entering your email address and password and then pressing the “Sign In” button.


  • After you sign in to the app, select your preferred language.


  • After you sign in to the app, you can press the ‘Study Notes’ to go to the page that contains the links and icons for all the main topics mentioned above.


  • After you press on any of the main topics, you will be directed to a screen that contains the various subtopics included in that main topic.


  • When you press on any of the subtopics on that screen, you will see all the content of that subtopic in brief.

  • When you press on any of the subtopics on that screen, you will see all the content of that subtopic in brief.


  • The app has been designed like Flash Cards to help you quickly revise the topics.
  • For example if you press the Types of Search Engines subtopic in the Search Engine Optimization main topic, you will see the notes on Types of Search Engines.
  • To exit from the app, press the back button on your phone till you see the screen, “Do you want to exit from app?” and then press “Yes” or press the Home button of your mobile phone.


  • Utility of the app:
  • The biggest utility of this app is for the audience for the students.
  • There are many reference books for the topics which are not easy to find. It is also difficult to prepare notes from so many books for just one topic.
  • To help students address this issue, the author of the app, Dr. Mangesh Karandikar, Director, MET Institute of Mass Media has collated the content from various online sources and also written the content in many sections.
  • The app has content in two languages, English and Marathi. The Hindi content will be available soon
  • The DigiMedia app has 26 hours of videos at the moment. The videos are distributed across the content, within the respective pages.
